Apple's Brand new M3 macs may release in October

Apple is rumored to have a new product apple M3 release launch date scheduled for October, as reported by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman in his recent Power On newsletter. Gurman speculates that this launch, following the presumed release of the iPhone 15, will primarily focus on new Macs, potentially including the M3-powered iMac. It has been previously mentioned by Gurman that Apple plans to introduce the M3-powered iMac by the end of this year.

While Gurman remains cautious about this prediction, the timing seems favorable. The last iMac redesign occurred over two years ago with the introduction of vibrant colors.

However, it is uncertain if this refresh will bring any changes to the iMac's form factor. In a recent Power On newsletter, Gurman indicated that larger iMac models, possibly up to 32 inches, won't be available until late 2024. Therefore, this refresh may simply be an upgraded version of the existing 24-inch model, which is still a notable improvement.

Gurman also suggests that the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, both 13-inch models, could receive updates with M3 processors. However, he doesn't explicitly mention the iPad, except for the possibility of an M3 version of the iPad Pro featuring an OLED screen, expected to arrive next year. Gurman does mention the development of a faster iPad Air model, which would bring the midrange iPad back to an annual release schedule after skipping a refresh in 2021. The M1-powered iPad Air was released in 2022.

Regarding the new M3 Macs, Gurman previously mentioned that they could be released this year or the next, making them the first devices to utilize the rumored 3nm Apple Silicon chips. Additionally, well-connected supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has indicated that new M3 Pro/Max chips are anticipated in the first half of 2024.

As the year draws to a close, we will have to wait and see if these rumors come to fruition.
