The recognizable Blue bird emblem has been replaced with an "X" as Twitter's new logo, the most significant alteration since the billionaire acquired the social media site for $44 billion last year.
Musk released a brief video of a flashing "X" on Sunday, and when asked whether the company's emblem will change, he answered "Yes" in a Twitter Spaces audio conversation
“Yeah we’re cutting the Twitter logo off the building with blow torches,” he told an unknown speaker.
By placing the most frequently utilized services behind a barrier, Twitter has recently been encouraging more users to purchase premium blue memberships. The corporation might further improve the platform with this rebranding in order to get more people to jump on the subscription bandwagon. Musk's Twitter is up against Meta's Thread, which has millions of users and operates a platform similar to Twitter.
The biggest microblogging network in the world has changed its identity, and in the next days, the URL x.com will redirect to twitter.com. Elon Musk is also thinking about changing the platform's default color, which is now set to white, to black.
This is not the first time Musk is playing around with the Twitter branding. Twitter's blue bird logo was changed to the cryptocurrency Dogecoin's emblem in April 2023. But in a few of days, the old logo took its place.
